Federal Politics: NDP Launches Abbotsford Website

Federal Politics: NDP Launches Abbotsford Website

The Federal NDP, believing Abbotsford is one of the ridings in which it can make some significant gains, has launched an Abbotsford NDP website in preparation for a spring election which could come as soon as this week. David Murray, the NDP candidate for Abbotsford, says they are ready for an election.
Murray, who has been knocking on doors throughout the riding on a daily and weekly basis for over a year now, says the mood among the electorate is one that could lead to some surprising changes if an election is held.

“People in this riding are angry with some of the things the Harper government has done and angry with some of the decisions being made at Abbotsford City Hall as well,” says Murray. “When answering the door nearly everybody I have met over the last year has expressed surprised that a politician would actually come to talk to them at home and care about what they think,” he adds.
Murray has been a CUPE union member for over 30 years. He served as Treasurer of the CUPE Fraser Valley District Council and the CUPE Fraser Valley Political Action Representative and was also Treasurer of the Fraser Valley Labour Council (CLC).
