2011 Budget: 24 hours to go
In 24 hours, Stephen Harper will release his Conservative budget.
He has a choice. Stephen Harper can include Jack Layton’s proposals to make life more affordable for everyday Canadians. Or he can explain to Canadians – in an election – why he can’t work with others to get results.
New Democrats have to be ready for that election.
That’s why I’m asking for your help right now. Make an urgent pre-election donation to ensure New Democrats are ready to take on Stephen Harper in 24 hours.
Jack Layton and the New Democrats have put forward a set of practical, affordable proposals – all focused on taking pressure off your family budget:
  • Take the federal sales tax off skyrocketing home heating bills and restore the EcoEnergy Retrofit program.
  • Increase the Guaranteed Income Supplement for our most vulnerable seniors.
  • Strengthen the Canada Pension Plan we all rely on.
  • Abbotsford NDP Candidate David Murray with Ed Broadbent at Halifax convention
  • Hire more doctors and nurses across Canada.
Will Stephen Harper decide to adopt Jack Layton’s common-sense proposals – giving everyday Canadians a break?
Or will he stand up in front of this country and admit that your priorities just don’t matter as much as those of his corporate friends?
You and I both know – Stephen Harper has a 5-year record of putting the well-connected ahead of everyday Canadians.
So we have to be ready. Your immediate donation will ensure Jack Layton and the New Democrats can defeat Stephen Harper if his budget doesn’t put your priorities first.
We have 24 hours. Be a part of it.
