Statistics Canada reported today that Canada lost jobs in March. Quebec (-15,000 jobs) and Alberta (–3,200 jobs) were particularly hard hit, as was the Toronto area (-16,600 jobs). Manufacturing shed 9,400 jobs.
With job losses and recent reports showing no productivity gains, it’s clear Harper’s across-the-board corporate tax giveaways aren’t working. Michael Ignatieff has no jobs plan at all.
Jack Layton’s New Democrats will focus on practical results with a plan to target relief for small business and tax cuts that reward companies when they create jobs.
